Cheap Sushi

I had my virgin bite of sushi back in primary two. I am not so sure if Sushi King (or Sakae Sushi for that matter) exist then, but i was sure, that's not the place I lost my sushi virginity. (Pardon the sex-langguage ;p)



Jusco (the hypermarket) was where I had my first sushi. I didn't really like my first bite but it's been so many years and my taste buds had changed too. Plus the fact that there are so many Japanese restaurants (especially those with kaiten belts) now, I'm pretty much accustomed to eating Japanese food already.



The last I had was in Jusco, Mid Valley where I had it take away for my mum but the one pictured here is the ones I had with Jess in Penang, Queensbay.



I remembered back then it was cheap but now, i would say it's reasonable. The plus point is that it is really convienient if you want to have it take away.

The total price for this sushi was RM 25++. Cheap, reasonable or expensive? That's for you to judge :)

Sakae Sushi

This place is the nearest competitor to Sushi King but i would say , this place had a lot of competitive advantage over Sushi King.



The architecture of this place is very modern and I think the one in Bangsar Village have one of the most beautiful design amongst the many branches they have.



There's also have a section to cater for private dinners in small groups.



Each of the table is equipped with a LCD screen at the side and you order them through the computer.

It's pretty cool and efficient ;p They have the service kaiten as well , but i prefer ordering from the menu.

Ocha


Like many how i did in other Japanese restaurant, i would always order Ocha.

But here, they actually have a hot water tab at the side of each table. So you don't need to ask the hostess to refill.


Goma Salmon Don


I was actually craving for salmon that day so i search in menu for the dish that has the most salmon and i chose the right one.

Salmon Sashimi


I'm very particular about my salmon and here, they serve really fresh salmon at reasonable price.

Salmon Kamaage


Fried Salmon. Quite nice, but i still prefer salmon raw.

Unagi To fu


This one is rather special. The soft tofu is deep fried and then later put in this soy sauce gravy yet the tofu still remains its crispyness. The tofu and unagi made a great combination.

Sakura Ebi Kakiage


It' s actually thinly sliced tempura vegetables. Nice and crispy.

Miso Soup


They're one of the few Japanese Restaurant in Malaysia that serve good miso soup.

Plain Rice


Hmmm.. plain rice. Nothing much to shout. Lol.

The service here is really good. The food came later and they knew we weren't so please and gave us a complimentary desert.

O-mochi


I love o-mochi and they're o-mochi is good .

If you want cheap and good Japanese food, this is the right place for it. I would definitely choose Sakae Sushi over Sushi King. This place is really good, i've revisited this place a number of times ;p So, do expect a few more post on this place.

Sushi King

It's been a while since my last food post. ;p I'm actually in the midst of studying for my Law Paper exam.. which is later. 8.30 p.m till 11.30 p.m. Never really like exams at night coz all i could think of is go back and sleep.

Anyway, yesterday i met the Assistant Vice Chancellor at her office. It was ok, my paper work is finally approved! She was rather strict .. and quiet.

Back to what i was gonna post, Long Long time ago, i went to Sushi King in Boulevard with Vero. The place was packed and people had to queue up to eat. It's funny tho' since Sushi King in Penang is always empty (especially the one in Prangin) and in KL it's packed but not till the extend where people queue to eat.

Before eat, check the price first. Applies to guys who has limited cash but has a girl with dinosaur appetite. Hehe.


I had a few plates only.. some of these are Vero's but i've personally tasted all these ( and a lot more) during my past visit in Penang and KL )

Wasabi and soy sauce!

I cant help but to think that this is how vegetarians shit look like. Sorry!!! Haha!

Sake


The must-have ..and was very turn off by the fact that the salmon is NOT fresh!!!

Chuka Chinmi


Seasoned scallops. One of the must-have for me .

Tuna Mayo Maki


I don't eat tuna so.. this is obviously Vero's. The tuna's portion is rather generous ;p

Kani Mayo


This one is kinda good and its cheap . So if u wanna save money, at the same time wanna show off tell ppl u went to sushi king , take a lot of this lah. Hehe.

Nishoku


Fish Roe and Wasabi Flavoured Fish Roe .. i like how the fish roe would pop in your mouth. Hehe.

I left the place in less than 30 minutes. There was very lil choices of sushi and the sushi's on the service kaiten just repeat and repeat and repeat!! Plus, i was just simply uncomfortable with the fact that the place is overly pack.

Will i go again ?

Maybe Not.

(*** I wrote this before exam .. and the law paper was fucking difficult. I'm starting to think Lawyers have no life and all they do is memorising acts and cases to be applied...to hell with the "delegatus no potest delegare' caveat emptor.. . " ... "nemo dat quat non habet"!! )
