Penang Famous Chendol

I felt like i'm not fit the term "foodchoholic" when my friend,Jo asked me if i knew about the famous chendol. I never knew Penang had a famous chendol stall too!

He wasn't sure of the place but somehow we ended up there after a little walking. (It's at this small junction near the jejantas to Komtar ) It's hard to miss the place because it is so packed despite being located at a little junction where cars seems to pass non-stop.

There you can see almost every patroners take photos while eating. C'mon, how could you not take photo at the stall Phua Chu Kang and his on-screen wife, Rosie visited?

The taukehnio have very quick pair of hands. I swear she can prepare at least 20 bowls of chendol in 1 minute! The chendol was dissapointing tho'. It wasn't cold. It is not sweet at all! Too much coconut milk!

( Jess and Jo )
The chendol itself isn't anything to shout. But if you're visiting Penang, i would recommend you to visit this place at least once for the experience of eating at the small junction where cars honk for way at the customers who happily sip their chendol. ;p

Jonker Walk Desert

I didn't knew this place was popular since my trip to Malacca was quite impromptu so i didn't have the time to surf for good eateries in Malacca.

I just went in since there were a lot of people so i assume something must be good. Talking about bandwagon fallacy! But i was surfing the net for some good food a few weeks ago and found this place is actually one of the tourist spot in Malacca.

The architecture of the place is very much designated like the coffee shops in the past. The front side sells some local products and the back is an open space.

Me and my friends were still full when we were here so we didn't ate much. We had :

Seafood Mee RM 3.00

Seafood was fresh and the portion was right. The soup was very flavourful too!

Goreng Goreng RM 3.50

Trust me the portion is at least three times more than it looks in the picture. Very cheap i would say and serve well as a snack during tea time.I wish the sauce was spicy tho!

Durian Chendol RM 3.00

They are popular for their chendol and i must say it is really very good. The gula melaka is thick and really different from other shop. Plus, to have it along with a bit of durian flavour was really interesting. However if you're not a fan of durian you can opt for the normal chendol.

If you go Malacca make sure you drop by at this place ok! Best! :P

Chendol Menara Jam

As the name suggested, it is located opposite the famous Menara Jam in Christ Church, Malacca.

This is actually the first thing i ate in Malacca! Because me and my friends were kinda exhausted after the bus ride ( trust me, we went through a lot just to get on the bus!), we walked opposite to quench our thirst and hunger the moment we reach Christ Church.

The famous Chendol Menara Jam stall!

I can't remember how much the chendol cost but it should be below RM 1.50.

Taste wise, i would say, it's nothing to shout. Below average :P

There's also a stall next to it that sells fried banana fritters and cempedak.

The banana fritters is really long ! I don't know why but it looks wrong to be putting a long banana fritters in your mouth. It doesn't look right. :p

So, if you're coming to Malacca for a visit, take my advice, skip on this. "Save your stomach" for something else!
