7th mile Teh C peng

Last time people used to associate the place 7th mile with Kota Sentosa- A place for "happy" people! Hahaha. I guess things change when a man from this place created the 3 layer Teh C Peng. I've always love 3 layer teh c peng but I've never taste it from the original place.



So , on a hot sunny afternoon , I decided to drive to 7th mile .. with Abang Jo's help! Anyway.. the coffee shop is sum where nearby the market.. drive up a bit after you pass the market.. somewhere there.. haha..



The tea comes with a layer of Gula Melaka, followed by a layer of evaporated milk and then a tea-milk-mixture. I suppose they are using the Mayang Tea , hence the very strong colour of the tea. The taste - kinda special... but i think not enough sweet? hehe! The rich flavours come from the gula melaka.. i think it will taste twice better if they put more! haha.

The popularity of this drink has prompted many imitations, but I'll say this one has a class of its own! :)

Lamb Steak with Lemon Wasabi Cream

Today , i cooked dinner! Took me about an hour to prepare everything... cant take photo of every single ingredients tho.. coz there's just too much pictures to take?

First.. of course you need the lamb! Haha! Make sure it's fresh !

Marinate the lamb with white pepper, salt , MSG, and a lil dash of black peper.

Then you pan fried it with olive oil. The secret is.. first you seal the lamb , then add a nob of butter.

Next is the vege.. Just boil everyting , put salt , black pepper and butter after it's cooKed! suppose to have the pic , but i accidentally delete them when i was syiooK sms-sing with Jaron. haha! Anyway , if you're wondering the vege i use is - brocoli, cauliflower, cherry tomatoes,corn and carrot.

I also made baked cheese potatoes. This is easy lah. Just clean the potatoes, slice it , put mozarella.. then add parsley and black peppeR! :) Then put into the oven .. then wa la la! Done!



Lastly the cream. Gotta have the damn good highway mayonaise, lemon and wasabi.



Squeeze half a lemon , then one tea spoon of wasabi and three full table spoon of highway mayonaise. Stir .. till they "blend" with "each other". Lol.



Viola! Done!! :)

Hui Sing Hawker Centre

I do think this post might make those who currently in overseas (STEF AND BENG) drool and wet their computer.. Or maybe they might kill me for writing this post! Hahaha!

Anyway , this post is actually dedicated to two of my dear friends , Stef and Hua Beng , with the help of Jess who accompany me eat.. She didn't pay for me tho. LOL

This place is rather Nostalgic to me ,cause i stay kinda nearby here.. so i practically grew up eating dinner here. A place that is very much part of me. I tasted every single stall before ... and knew pretty much about the sellers background. Jess was saying.. "EH! why u noe so much bout them wan!??!"


Cha kueh



For Stef! The cha kueh in Hui Sing not nice wan lah.. Tasteless.. No wonder nobody order(except Jess). LOL!! But i also know this is Stef's Fav!

Kolo Bee hoon

For Beng! I'm not very much a fan of kolo bee hoon , but i know Hua Beng miss this a lot ...so yea, i ate it. It's from my fav stall. the last 3rd stall from the right. Nice! :)

Cha Kueh Tiaw



This one is from the left side of Amachi(The indian food stall). I used to eat the Palm Road one since i was young, but recently i find out this one taste better. But portion is RIDICULOUSLY LITTLE!

White Lady

I think i should call this the almighty white lady. It's everyone's favourite! Many prefer to order from the stall at the end but i personally think the one near the Palm road 's Cha kueh tiau one is much nicer. For those of you who has no idea what is white lady.. It is actually mango syrup + ideal milk + pineapple + longan and crushed ice :)

ABC Special

I think they have the cheapest ABC in the whole Kuching! Nice and colourful! Of course, this is from my favourite stall also! :)

Cincau Peng

This is a weird drink Jess like. Hahaha! It's cincau + sarsi syrup + ideal milk. Shud be nice. LOL.

I'll say Hui Sing is one of the best hawker centre in Kuching. They have around 20 stalls and each have their own specialities. I'm sure they can please every one's taste buds! Pop by there if you're so out of place to eat.. or you can call me to accompany you! :)

It was an impromptu gathering with my high school mates... er, well only 3 of us. The rain was pouring so heavily an hour before the meet , i actually thought of cancelling it. Yes , i drive a convertible car. (HEH!...)

I decided to go this place a night before, after i saw their pictures online. And saw that the price was pretty cheap too...Kinda broke man! It's located at the corner of the old Tsui Hua Lau building in Ban Hock Road.



The interior was really nice and cosy.. but in my lil brainie , i was thinking why we were the only customer. Yes , the whole restaurant ONLY three of us!

The rattan chair they had was really comfortable!!



and.. their menu booklet was nice too.



So ... was the food nice?

Hmmm.. presentation's superb. But food that looks good , doesn't mean it taste good also rite? haha.Bun was soggy! The chicken meat was NOT fresh.I don't even think it's grilled. Seriously , i felt a bit giddy after eating it. THE PLATE IS FRIGGIN SMALL!!! Na bey , how to eat? The only thing good was the wedges. Perfectly fried.

For the drinks , the glass size is fixed. and it's so small can?!

MINE!. Ok, this one taste more like chocolate milk ... NOT NICE. coz! I don't take milk ... and the milk is wayyyyy to much!!!

and.... sigh. The waitress need to learn man. She don't even know if what we ordered is in the menu ... Ok fine , she might be new. At least she know what is in the menu OK?

Then when i ask if they have Tabasco sauce.. she answered me " HARHHH!!! TA-BAS SE ME ARRrrr ?" (translation : what ? what ? Ta bas what? )

So .. i guess i know why a place with such great ambiance is empty now. Man , even if the food there is reasonably price , customers want food with great taste too. Worst is that ,cause of the chicken meat in the burger was not fresh , i felt really sick when i got home.

Open Air Kuching

There's many Open air-style coffeeshops in Kuching, But if i were to mention the one nearby Electra House , i'm very sure , NO Kuching-aiks will miss it. It's been there for like centuries.. !

I also met my first love there. No , not the Aussie Guy. BUT!

Sin Kwan Heng Sio Bee



I can eat this every second , every minute , every hour and every day. Like we all know , First Love is always the best. So! Only they have the best sio bee! Dip in their chilli sos... ooohhhh ! sio-be-sm!

Open Air Kolo Mee



Kuching is flooded with Kolo mee.. BUT! not every stalls serve good Kolo mee. I would say Open Air is one of the best in town. Best eaten with the "char sio" oil -the red- coloured oil. Sweet + Salty = OOOhhh la la!

Soya Bean



The soya bean in open air is not recommended by me tho. Its very diluted.. But there's not much choice there. The "special" (some kind of ais kacang) in Open Air is nice.. so you can opt for that if you dont want the soya bean.

Ammah Curry House

Today i had lunch with my usual friends again at Ammah Curry House. Initially we wanted to eat at Jade Pot Tea House, BUT! it was full and most tables were booked. Na bey, this kind of restaurant also so many people go. wait till i open one! haha!

So , back to the curry house. It's located infront of UNIMAS Medic Faculty. When i arrive there, I was feeling quite awkward there coz the waiters has this restless face.Not one waiter are like that.. but all! When you order .. he's like not answering you and then just walk away. Some more they tooK quite a long time to light the fire to prepare the food. (canai and thosai). The ambience was dull accompanied by some jiwang Malay songs.

Ok .. what we ate?

Thosai Masala



3 of us ordered this. Thosai Masala means there is potatoes inside the thosai. This one actually had more onions than the potatoes and it had aubergine in it... which i HATE! But Thank God , it was spicy enough. So i finish it... I just didn't like the watery curry gravy and samba. Sri Shan win hands down!

Roti Canai Kosong



Samson's one.. looKs ok. But I don't quite like roti canai.. didn't bother to taste :P The gravy oso same la.

My girlfriend (HMMMMM...haha) one . Looks ok also. I didnt' try.She didn't complaint oso. Haha

Nasi Beriani Ayam



Four of us shared this. There were five of us but Sucker Jo didn't wanna share. Haha. The chicken is THE BOMB , can?! It was sooo nice. The beriani rice was Ok. The good thing was they used basmathi rice . Comes with Samba , some weird sweet stuff and pickled onions. and of course papadum! The chicken isssss GOOOOOD!!

Teh C peng special



Looks nice hor?? It is nice :) The 1st layer is tea , 2nd is milk and 3rd is wheatgrass. Nice.

Teh Tarik Ais



I love the fact that it came in this stainless steel glass. Very Indian-ish. hehe.

Ice Lemon Tea



This is the worst drink of all..SO bitter lah!

So that was my lunch.. with them .It was good.. very Indian-ish.. with the stainless steel plates and all. hehe. Can go there cuba-cuba lah!

Continued my afternoon at Somerset for chatting session. HAD LOTS of fun with Sucker Jo! HAHA!

Mr. Ho fine foods Crowne Square

Yesterday, one fine afternoon me and Ah ben went to Mr . Ho for .. tea time? haha. It was supposed to be 1.30 P.M but this Ben hor.. 1.30PM message say " Oi, im still at home , u can still go gila gila". Haha. So we arrive there around 2.30 Pm!



Anyway , i've always known the brand Mr. Ho for the poultry stuff and i tink i've eaten kilos of their honey glazed ham, bacon and huge long sausages!



My 1st impression of the place .. hmmm .. quite classy. The only laid back was the waitress was using Polo-T and the music kinda spoil the atmosphere! And Ah Ben was very turn off with one of the supervisor. haha. But interior , wah sheh! Damn romantic. wheee...



We took a pretty long time deciding on what to eat ... and i think the waitress got quite pissed. The choices weren't many though. But there was many tempting menu names.

After about 15 minutes.. we decided to order this :

Roasted Chix RM 18.90



Mr. Ben Moh Mok ordered this one. He gave me a "bite/piece" ... and i find it very well marinated. The herbs was just right. It's quite a perfect one. I didn't like quite like the mashed potato tho.. it was a lil tasteless. The vege is well cooked .

Roasted Pork with Apple sauce

I wasnt quite excited when i saw it was like the normal "sio bak" we can find in the coffee shops. BUT! 1st bite! It straight away bring me to heaven for a few seconds. It was damn good. Damn crispy oso! Very the ooh la la! The combination with apple sauce was special .. but after a while i thought i'm eating an apple pie stuffed with roasted pork.HAHA. Anyway the supervisor asked if we would like more sauce and i said yes.. was quite grateful he took the wrong sauce. (meaning to say he didnt take the apple one. haha) The sides were the same like the roasted chix.

Oreo Cheesecake RM 7.00



I had always like my oreo cheesecake this way.. i don't like the crushed oreo-kind. This cake taste pretty good but i suggest you share if you were to go there to try. It's quite rich and makes u feel a lil.. "cloyyed"

Ice Milk Tea RM 4.50


I must say the drinks are pretty reasonable with that kind of ambiance. But .. my ice milk tea was quite diluted and i had to put a lot of the sugar syrup to make it drink-able. Ratings : 5/10

Ben Moh Mok one. Didn't try.. think it's like normal ice lemon tea hor , Ben? :P

I'll highly recommend this place! Service damn good oso! I will go again sooon! Ah ben! we go together again olrite! :P
